The Western Australian Government is building a new rail link to Perth Airport – the Forrestfield Airport Link (FAL). The Public Transport Authority (PTA) engaged VLC to provide advice on accessibility impacts of different options for reconfiguring the bus network around the FAL.

Client requirements

PTA needed powerful visuals and statistics to demonstrate the strengths and weaknesses of each of the proposed networks.

Delivered outcome

VLC undertook accessibility analysis using Conveyal and delivered powerful visuals and statistics which demonstrated the strengths and weaknesses of each of the proposed networks. VLC also provided insight into how each of the networks performed in terms of access to employment through maps and statistics. This included the preparation of isochrone maps and jobs accessibility maps.
